A Letter from our VP of Membership:
Hello! I would like to personally welcome
you to Pi Beta Phi formal recruitment! As
the Vice President of Membership for 2008, I

Pi
Beta Phi recognizes the extreme importance of formal
recruitment. We put a large emphasis on making it a
special experience for both our active members, and
those going through recruitment. With the incredible
amount of work that goes into making our recruitment
what it is, we would be lost without the help of our
families and Pi Phi alumnae. We are truly thankful
for everything they do!
As
you head into an exciting time of your life, which
may mean leaving home for the first time, I would
like to personally encourage you to go through the
formal recruitment process, regardless of any doubts
you may have. The experiences and opportunities that
have been given to me in Pi Beta Phi have been
overwhelmingly beneficial to my college career. I
have made friends that I know I will have for the
rest of my life. The USC Greek Community is full of
people from all over the world, and I strongly
believe there is a place for everyone! At Pi Beta
Phi, we are proud of our ability to recruit an
extremely diverse group of girls. Our members are
song girls, athletes, dancers, Presidents of other
organizations, philanthropists, singers, in student
government, and many other things!
I
cannot express enough how incredible and fulfilling
sorority life can be. I look forward to meeting you
in our beautiful home in the Fall of 2008!
Pi
Phi Love,

Vice President of Membership
Details on Sorority Recruitment at USC
The
Panhellenic Council's formal sorority recruitment
process at USC allows girls interested in joining a
sorority to meet each chapter over a period of
several days, culminating in Greek bid night.
Sorority recruitment at USC includes multiple
rounds, through which new members narrow their
choices in a mutual selection process to find the
chapter in which they feel most at home. All
throughout the process, girls going through
recruitment have recruitment counselors to guide
them and answer any questions they may have.

Unity Days
On Unity Days, you will visit every sorority and
have a chance to talk with a few women from each
chapter. During this round you and your recruitment
group will be guided from chapter to chapter by your
recruitment counselors.
Spirit Day
On Spirit Day, you will attend house tours at up
to six chapters.
Pride Day
On Pride Day, you will have the opportunity to
see a video/slide show at up to four chapters that
highlights each chapter's unique sisterhood.
Preference
Preference is a more formal day in which you
will share breakfast and a ceremony with up to two
sororities. After this day's events, you will fill
out a bid card with your first choice house.
Bid
Night
On Bid Night, you will find out which sorority
you have been invited to join, learn your
recruitment counselor's affiliation, and then be
taken to your Bid Night celebration to meet your new
sisters!
